Day two started brightly with a big win against Estonia. An excellent set from Jagger/Allerton was matched with a similarly good set from Robson/Forrester, the highlight of which was Robson outplaying his counterpart to bring home a tricky 6NT.

Unfortunately the rest of the day was rather less successful. A modest performance against a relatively weak Austria saw us come out with a small loss.

This was followed by playing the fancied Polish team. A couple of missed opportunities included missing a good Grand Slam as there was some indecision at a high level as to whether 5NT would be Grand Slam Force or pick-a-slam. We lost by 17 to leave us lying in 15th place.

Tomorrow we have a bye followed by Finland then Monaco.
