A mixed day. We started very slowly with a hefty loss to Iceland by 39.

We had the auld enemy next and ran out huge winners by 100-5. Our Coach gave David Bakhshi a stern lecture about the losing board where he had a chance to make 2NT but failed 😀. To spare any Scots blushes I will refrain from giving any details of the match  - except to mention I think there was only one revoke that I’m aware of.

Another big result followed with a 31 imp against Portugal- to breathe life into our hopes. Here’s hoping for a terrific surge tomorrow.
